Sayre lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Choctawhatchee, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Spartans were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Indians on Thursday. Considering the Spartans have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jaxson Howard tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Gary Gibson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had over his last seven contests.
