Baseball Recap: Chesterfield Wins Going Away Against North Central

Chesterfield barely beat North Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Chesterfield Golden Rams' pitcher stepped up to hand the North Central Knights a 13-0 shutout on Friday. The game marked the Golden Rams' most dominant win of the season so far.

Bryce Adams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sky Courtney was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Holden Lowery was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Chesterfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Chesterfield and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for North Central, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Chesterfield will welcome Buford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Central, they will face off against McBee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
