After both having extra time off, the Williston-Elko Blue Devils and the Pelion Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 9:00 a.m. on December 27th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Williston-Elko had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by Bamberg-Ehrhardt 59-31 on December 4th.
Meanwhile, Pelion was just a bucket shy of victory last Thursday and fell 33-32 to Blackville-Hilda. Pelion has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Williston-Elko bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for Pelion, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Williston-Elko came up short against Pelion in their previous matchup back in January, falling 42-38. Will Williston-Elko have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
