Shakopee lost to Eden Prairie back in September of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Sabers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sabers have posted against the Eagles since October 30, 2015.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (115-95) Shakopee actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 11-25, 13-25, 21-19.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Jensen, who had 11 digs and four aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Alison Olk, who had 13 digs and two assists.

Shakopee has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season. As for Eden Prairie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Shakopee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Lakeville South on the 14th. As for Eden Prairie, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Caledonia on the 10th.
