The Novato Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 68-54 fall against Marin Catholic. Novato was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Novato still got an impressive performance from Joshua Devore, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Andrew Halsing was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Novato's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Marin Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 10-15.
Novato will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Marin is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Marin Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against the Red Tailed Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tamalpais presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in California (the Red Tailed Hawks are ranked 174th, while the Wildcats are ranked 387th).
