The Cross Trojans will take on the Allendale-Fairfax Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cross is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cross walked away with it. They blew past Hemingway, posting a 52-0 win at home. Considering Cross has won nine contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cross to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Mungin, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Jamez Way also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Allendale-Fairfax's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Latta by a score of 12-0.
Cross pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Hemingway and 2-8 Lake Marion (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 27.8% over those games). As for Allendale-Fairfax, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
