Lakeside has gone 8-2 against Perris recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Panthers at 3:15 p.m.
Lakeside came up short against Rancho Verde on Tuesday, falling 8-2. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Adryanna Alvarez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Perris won against Desert Hot Springs on Monday with 18 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on Rancho Christian with a sharp 18-8 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by nine runs or more this season.
Perris got a massive performance out of Anahi Morales, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Morales also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carina Castaneda, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Perris kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
The victory made it two in a row for Perris and bumps their season record up to 4-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
Perris' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Lakeside has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Perris, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Lakeside keep running through batters, or will the Panthers buck the trend?
Lakeside took their victory against Perris when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 21-1 score. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
