The Lebanon Catholic Beavers fought the good fight in their overtime match against the New Covenant Christian Flames on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Flames by a score of 68-65. The loss means Lebanon Catholic is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Covenant Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keenan Stoner, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Colson Hess, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Lebanon Catholic's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-3. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for New Covenant Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Lebanon Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Lehigh Valley Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for New Covenant Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-49 loss vs. York Country Day on the 9th.
