Loss or not, Sparta got some senior leadership from John Rice who scored 19 points along with 4 steals and Thomas Laufenberg who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. The match was Laufenberg's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zach Treu, who scored 6 points.
Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
