When it comes to explaining why Hillsboro lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nathan Matoush. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with six rebounds. The match was Matoush's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Elliot Lentz, who scored six points.
Hillsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Marquette Catholic, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Hillsboro will take on Carlinville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marquette Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Granite City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Granite City is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
