They came out on top in a nail-biter against Melbourne Central Catholic, sneaking past 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Hustlers: they've now won three in a row.

Drew Buchanan was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, St. John Paul II Academy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.53 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chaminade-Madonna. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Benjamin pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. John Paul II Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-2-1.

Benjamin might still be hurting after the 13-5 defeat they got from St. John Paul II Academy in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Benjamin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
