Softball Recap: West Blocton's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

West Blocton came tearing into Monday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Demopolis as they made off with a 10-2 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 8-2 win on April 5th.

Khloe Forsythe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Jacey Register was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Koli Hobson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

West Blocton's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-10. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Demopolis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-20.

Coming up, West Blocton will venture away from home to take on Hillcrest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Demopolis, they will take on Thomasville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomasville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Demopolis' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
