The West Wendover Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Yerington Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Yerington took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on West Wendover, who comes in off a win.
West Wendover scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Wells 53-23 at home. West Wendover might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Yerington's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were beaten by Pyramid Lake 66-32. While losing is never fun, Yerington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Pyramid Lake is ranked 16th).
The victory was the third in a row for West Wendover, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. As for Yerington, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
West Wendover came up short against Yerington in their previous matchup back in January, falling 43-39. Can West Wendover avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
