Softball Recap: Basha Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Basha had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Tolleson Wolverines 9-3. Considering the Bears have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Josie Karpenski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Vaeh Luna was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Lainey Clapp also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Basha pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Tolleson, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.

Basha wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-5 defeat against Corona del Sol on the 8th. As for Tolleson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 victory against Apollo on the 8th.
