Spartanburg (S.C.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 6 in South Carolina, but was stunned by
Dorman (Roebuck, S.C.), 42-35. Dorman was ranked at No. 21 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for South Carolina coming into the week.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Shondrell Keenan in the first quarter, the Cavaliers led 21-7 at the half.
Dorman saw its 14-point halftime lead decrease to seven entering the fourth.
DHS led by as many as 21 points before the Vikings cut into the final margin.
Spartanburg came in surrendering 16.2 points per game this season.
The Roebuck school also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 40-21.
In a AAAA Region II game next week Spartanburg (5-2) takes on Boiling Springs, and Dorman (6-2) will go up against Boiling Springs also in a AAAA Region II game.
