The Grant Union Prospectors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 54-14 loss at the hands of Heppner. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grant Union in their matchups with Heppner: they've now lost seven in a row.
Heppner's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Conner Wilson, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Caden George was another key contributor, rushing for 59 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Grant Union's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. As for Heppner, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Grant Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Heppner will be playing in front of their home fans against Bandon/Pacific at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bandon/Pacific is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
