The Cascade Christian Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Omak Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, Cascade Christian got themselves on the board against Vashon Island, but Vashon Island never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 62-0 win over the Pirates at home. Winning may never get old, but Cascade Christian sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jackson Almond was on fire: he threw for 287 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Almond really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Byson Vasquez also helped out with an impressive 115 receiving yards.
Cascade Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Brian Rivera and his three sacks.
Meanwhile, Omak was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Cascade 53-12 at home. Given Omak's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Cascade is ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cascade Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Omak, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
