Softball Recap: University Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for University, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They never let the Preston Knights get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Hawks have won 11 matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

University got a massive performance out of Lexi Elza, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Elza has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emma Stevens, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

University always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Preston only posted an OBP of .062.

University is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Preston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

As of now, neither University nor Preston have any future games scheduled.
