On Tuesday, South Allegheny earned a 54-44 victory over Uniontown. The win was all the more spectacular given South Allegheny's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Uniontown is ranked 13th).
Uniontown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamire Braxton, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Tori Grooms, who scored 13 points.
South Allegheny's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Uniontown, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-1.
South Allegheny will head out on the road to square off against Montour at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Uniontown, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Albert Gallatin at 7:30 p.m.
