Rangely is 10-0 against Caprock Academy since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Rangely Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Caprock Academy Eagles at 2:30 p.m. Rangely will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
Rangely can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat De Beque 66-24 on the road. With Rangely ahead 36-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Ashlynn Ducey was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with eight steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmeree Wagner, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 44-9, which was the final score in Caprock Academy's tilt against West Grand on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Caprock Academy has scored all season.
Rangely pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Caprock Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Rangely against Caprock Academy in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 52-14 win. With Rangely ahead 31-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
