The Westside Seminoles will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Perry Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (Westside is ranked 352nd, while the Panthers are ranked 345th).
Westside struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Braves had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Westside took a serious blow against the Braves, falling 69-19. Westside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-13.
Despite the defeat, Westside had strong showings from Destiny Spencer, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds, and Zylea Dinkins, who scored no points. Spencer hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games.
Meanwhile, Perry's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to West Laurens.
Westside has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Perry, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16.
Westside beat the Panthers 36-24 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
