Baseball Recap: Edon Gets the Win

Edon took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Hilltop, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bombers had just enough and edged out the Cadets 4-3 on Tuesday. For the Bombers, this counts as revenge for the 14-3 win the Cadets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Christian Owens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Corbin Chrisman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Carter Steinke, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Edon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hilltop, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Edon will take on Montpelier at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Locomotives will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Hilltop, they will face off against Stryker at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something the Cadets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
