Fairfield is a perfect 6-0 against Cisne since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mules will be playing at home against the Runnin' Lions at 4:30 p.m. Fairfield is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
While Fairfield didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Edwards County by a score of 7-4 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Mules have won by exactly three runs.

Alivia Rice was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last six games. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Fairfield let Kiersten Vaughan and Serenity Dagg run wild. Vaughan went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs, while Dagg went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Vaughan has posted over her last nine matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Musgrave, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cisne lost 16-4 to Norris City-Omaha-Enfield last Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Runnin' Lions in their meetings with the Fighting Cardinals: they've now lost six in a row.
Cisne saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Dillon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Dillon has hit this season.
Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Cisne, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Fairfield's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Mules have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Cisne, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Fairfield continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Fairfield's way against Cisne in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Fairfield made off with an 18-1 win. Do the Mules have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Runnin' Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
