After flying high against the Miramar Patriots on Thursday, the Plantation Colonels came back down to earth. Plantation was outmatched by Flanagan on the road and fell 50-21. Plantation was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Flanagan to victory, but perhaps none more so than D?Naela Myers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Myers is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Charlize Coats, who scored 13 points.
Plantation's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Flanagan, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Plantation will be playing in front of their home fans against Nova at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Nova's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Plantation's offense will have their work cut out for Plantation. As for Flanagan, they will head out on the road to face off against Western at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Western is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
