The Hinton Comets had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 56-50 W over Carnegie on Friday. This was payback for Hinton, who suffered a 63-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Carnegie still got an impressive performance from Jalen Wallace, who scored 19 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Paden Jackson, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
The win got Hinton back to even at 6-6. As for Carnegie, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
Hinton will head out on the road to take on Apache at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carnegie will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shattuck at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th.
