Softball Recap: Union Pines Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Union Pines won the last time they faced Pinecrest and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings blew past the Patriots 12-2. Considering the Vikings have won 11 matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Serena McCutchen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kileigh Cameron, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Union Pines kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in five consecutive games.

Union Pines has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pinecrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.

Union Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pinecrest, they will take on Richmond in a tournament on Monday. The Patriots are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
