The Auburn Tigers had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They walked away with a 68-60 victory over Benjamin Russell. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Auburn to victory were Antwane Daniels and Tabari Allen. Daniels scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds, while Allen scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Franklin, who scored 7 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Auburn pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Benjamin Russell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Auburn will square off against Fairfield at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Fairfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Benjamin Russell will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marbury at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
