Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Orange

Orange waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 22-21 W against the Beachwood Bison. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by just one run.

Kelsey Lewis was a standout: she went 5-for-6 with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Emily Utech, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases.

Orange was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .489. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Orange now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Beachwood, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange will head out to square off against Mayfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Beachwood, they will square off against Tuslaw at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
