West Grand scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Hayden, 32-28. At the time, the Tigers was ranked 19th in the state, while the Mustangs was 31st.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Vail Christian, who took down 28th ranked Vail Christian, 30-6. Chas Byerly ran for 144 yards and caught two passes for 17 yards in the win.
Soroco's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nic Paxton threw for 61 and one touchdown and Ryan Jeep had 48 yards receiving. On the ground Paxton chipped in 257 yards. Matthew Regan helped Soroco's passing attack out by catching two balls for 13 yards.
5-foot-8 quarterback Austin Ellsworth of the Saints is the league leader in passing yards this season with 921. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. On the ground, Hayden's Mark Doolin has rushed for 813 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jacob Weece. The South Park star has 30 catches for 581 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when West Grand takes on Vail Christian. Chris Brown's team is in fourth place, while the Saints are in first place.
The Rams led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on South Park. Paxton in the win.
