The Reno Huskies were the 63-38 winner over the Douglas Tigers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Reno was outmatched by Douglas at home and fell 52-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Reno has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Reno still got an impressive performance from Natalia Schettler, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Schettler pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Reno struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Reno's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Douglas, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
Reno will square off against Carson at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Carson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Thursday. Douglas will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop Manogue at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Manogue is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
