The Ray Texans had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 24-7 victory over King on Friday. The victory was just what Ray needed coming off of a 66-10 loss in their prior matchup.
Ruben Garza was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Ray's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for King, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ray will take on Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for King, they will head out on the road to face off against Corpus Christi Moody at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Corpus Christi Moody comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
