Despite the defeat, Morse saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ethan Esmailian threw for 152 yards and a pair of TDs.
Even if they lost, Morse's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Ivan Scarville with two.
Meanwhile, Kearny got themselves on the board against Southwest SD on Friday, but Southwest SD never followed suit. They enjoyed a cozy 14-0 win over the Raiders. The victory continues a trend for the Komets in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won five in a row.
