Despite the defeat, Morse saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ethan Esmailian threw for 152 yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, Kearny got themselves on the board against Southwest SD on Friday, but Southwest SD never followed suit. They enjoyed a cozy 14-0 win over the Raiders. The victory continues a trend for the Komets in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won five in a row.
