The Sugar-Salem Diggers will face off against the Burley Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Sugar-Salem got the win against American Falls by a conclusive 21-2. The victory continues a trend for the Diggers in their matchups with the Beavers: they've now won eight in a row.
Wyatt Telford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Telford was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Latrell Markle was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preston Harris, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Sugar-Salem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American Falls only posted an OBP of .357.
Meanwhile, Burley earned a 5-1 win over Malad on Saturday.
Ike Redder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
On the hitting side, Burley got a big performance out of Jacoby Roe, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Casen Cooper, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Burley's record is now 2-0. As for Sugar-Salem, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
