The Clarke Central Gladiators lost to the Marist War Eagles back in January, but the Clarke Central Gladiators didn't allow the Marist War Eagles the same satisfaction on Saturday. Clarke Central strolled past Marist with points to spare, taking the game 55-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Clarke Central.
When it comes to explaining why Marist lost, one person who can't be blamed is Owen Ritger. Despite the final result, he scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds. Luke Harpring was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 9 rebounds.
Clarke Central pushed their record up to 3-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Marist, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-9 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarke Central will challenge Winder-Barrow at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winder-Barrow has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Marist will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Cristo Rey Atlanta at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. Cristo Rey Atlanta knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Marist likes a good challenge.
