The Gainesville Christian Community Warriors suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Westwood Christian by a score of 46-44. Gainesville Christian Community was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westwood Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Westwood Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tripp Kirkland led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was William Cerritos, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Gainesville Christian Community and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for Westwood Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Gainesville Christian Community will head out on the road to challenge Hope Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hope Christian Academy will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Westwood Christian will take on Open Bible Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Open Bible Christian has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
