It was a good run, but Richton unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They received a blow as they fell 86-71 to the Murphy Panthers.

Cordairus Dixon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Murphy, going 13 of 19 en route to 34 points and six steals. Dixon has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Mangram, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points along with eight assists and seven boards.

Richton's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Murphy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Richton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-38 defeat against Presbyterian Christian on the 20th. As for Murphy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-56 victory against Greene County on the 20th.
