Howells-Dodge had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Overton Eagles 44-8. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 24  points or more this season.
 Hunter Luther had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 285 yards and three  TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. That's the most  rushing yards  he has posted since back in September of 2024. Howells-Dodge also got a significant boost from  Oliver Belina, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Howells-Dodge was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 414  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 169  rushing yards in 13 consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
 Another reason for the win was Howells-Dodge's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Luther and  Jax Nelson, who racked up all five sacks between them. Luther is also crushing it when it comes to  rushing touchdowns: he's   punched in at least two every time he's  taken the field this season.
Howells-Dodge's record now sits at 10-0. As for Overton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
 Looking ahead, Howells-Dodge will take on Lawrence-Nelson on Friday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. Overton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
