McKinley is 2-8 against Lakeview since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The McKinley Red Dragons will be playing at home against the Lakeview Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, McKinley beat Brookfield 52-41. Given McKinley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Brookfield is ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stef Dorsey was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 18 points. Yaunsene Blackmon was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Lakeview earned a 55-47 victory over McDonald on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lakeview.
Lakeview can attribute much of their success to Kyle Senkowitz, who scored 27 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Gee, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
The losses dropped McKinley to 2-1 and Brookfield to 0-2.
McKinley beat Lakeview 63-55 in their previous matchup back in February. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lakeview's Tyler Capan, who scored 16 points. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for McKinley to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
