The Rosman Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 68-40 loss at the hands of Madison. Rosman has not had much luck with Madison recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Rosman's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Meece, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kaesyn Mccoy, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Rosman struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Madison pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Gavin Gault continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Madison, scoring 29 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Gault hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Bartlett, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals.
Rosman's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Madison, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Rosman will be playing at home against Owen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Owen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Rosman likes a good challenge. As for Madison, they will head out on the road to challenge Draughn at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Madison is ranked 490th, while Draughn is ranked 508th).
