The Union Farmers pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 72-56 to Phillipsburg.
Andrew Martin had an outrageously good game for Phillipsburg as he scored 37 points along with five rebounds. Matthew Scerbo Jr. was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Union's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Phillipsburg, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union will be home for the holidays to greet Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Elizabeth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. Phillipsburg will be home for the holidays to greet Hunterdon Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
