3A West Valley recap September 17, 2013
Willamina fell to Heppner 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Keegan Davis ran for 32 yards in the defeat.
Amity and Gaston played the most contested game in 3A West Valley this week, with Amity eventually emerging with a 6-0 victory.
Shane Thomas was the best receiver in the league this week as Willamina fell to the Mustangs. Thomas tallied 2 receptions for 17 yards.
Davis was the most successful running back in the league this week. Evert Sanders also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
Sanders was a passing and rushing force as Tim France's team fell to Heppner.
An important game coming up in 3A West Valley this week will be when Sheridan/Sheridan Japanese takes on Colton. The Spartans are currently in fifth, while the Vikings are in second.
The Warriors made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,873 from 9,550. The improvement came about via a 6-0 victory over the Greyhounds last week.
