The Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Walkerville Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Grand Traverse Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
Even though Grand Traverse Academy has not done well against the Bulldogs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Grand Traverse Academy walked away with a 36-27 victory over the Bulldogs. That looming 36-27 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Grand Traverse Academy yet this season.
Among those leading the charge was Weston Kinney, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matthew Kinney, who scored six points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Walkerville was beaten by the Panthers 77-41 on Thursday.
Grand Traverse Academy's victory ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-15. As for Walkerville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
