The Columbus Explorers came tearing into Saturday's contest with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 81-51 victory over Miami on the road. Columbus has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 26 points or more this season.
Columbus got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jase Richardson out in front who scored 14 points along with seven steals. Richardson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Boozer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Miami, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus will take on Florida Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Miami, they will be playing at home against Mater Lakes Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
