Falkner is 0-10 against Alcorn Central since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Falkner Eagles will welcome the Alcorn Central Bears at 11:00 a.m. Falkner knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Alcorn Central likes a good challenge.
If Falkner beats Alcorn Central with 12 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Falkner came out on top against Middleton by a score of 12-8 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Erick Lumpkin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lumpkin was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, while Alcorn Central put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Adamsville. Alcorn Central walked away with a 3-0 win over Adamsville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.
Not much got past Jarrett Thomas, who gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks to keep Adamsville off the board. Thomas also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Alcorn Central is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise.
At the plate, Alcorn Central's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Noah Canten, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Alcorn Central pushed their record up to 5-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Falkner, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Falkner suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Alcorn Central in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Falkner avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
