After a string of five wins, the Julian Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 49-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Warner. If Julian was looking for revenge after losing 55-41 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenny Morytko, who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Morytko scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Cruz, who scored 14 points.
Warner found their leader in underclassman Anthony Porras, who scored 20 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Porras hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Angel Carachure, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Julian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Warner, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11.
Julian's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on January 29th. Hamilton has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Warner, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Hopefully Borrego Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Thursday.
