Charlotte Christian ended up on the wrong side of a tough 66-44 walloping at the hands of Wesleyan Christian Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while Wesleyan Christian Academy is ranked 68th).
When it comes to explaining why Charlotte Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Daniel Guandolo. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The game was Guandolo's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terence Guess, who scored seven points.
This is the second loss in a row for Charlotte Christian and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Charlotte Christian will head out on the road to face off against Spartanburg Day at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Spartanburg Day comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Forsyth Country Day at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Forsyth Country Day's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
