The Abbeville Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Ninety Six with a sharp 73-52 win. Given Abbeville's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Ninety Six is ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Abbeville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Rollinson, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Riley, who scored 21 points along with two steals.
Abbeville pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Ninety Six, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
