The Perquimans Pirates''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 27-18 victory over Gates County. The win was just what Perquimans needed coming off of a 42-13 defeat in their prior contest.
Perquimans' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jarmon Overton, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Knapp, who punched in a rushing scores.
Perquimans' victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Gates County, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perquimans will take on East Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Columbus is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Gates County, they will be playing at home against Weldon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Weldon is ranked 324th, while Gates County is ranked 325th).
