Ahoskie Christian waltzed into their match on Thursday with 22 straight wins but they left with 23. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 62-30 victory over Pamlico Christian Academy. Ahoskie Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.
Morgan Wadsworth was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 32 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it 19 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Ahoskie Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Carly Piland, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Pamlico Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mandy Tyler, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Pamlico Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Ahoskie Christian posted 12 assists.
Ahoskie Christian pushed their record up to 25-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ahoskie Christian will face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bethel Assembly Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
