The North Central Panthers pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pike. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (61), North Central still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, North Central still got an impressive performance from Papi Rivera, who scored 23 points along with six assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rivera has scored all season. Nijah Jewell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
North Central's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Pike, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
North Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-70 win vs. Floyd Central on the 10th. Pike has also already played their next match, a 70-66 loss against Mt. Vernon on the 10th.
